Honestly, Tvyek is pretty miraculous. It’s permeable to water vapor but not to water, it’s nearly impossible to tear, but can be easily cut. It’s cheap and made entirely without binding chemicals. In addition to being used for wristbands, it’s used to wrap construction sites to keep out water during construction, for tear-resistant envelopes at Fed-Ex, coveralls for mechanics, and my wallet, actually.
Fun tip, though it looks like paper, Tyvek is plastic, and cannot be recycled with paper.

Houses get wrapped in it, and the white suits you see forensic techs wearing in TV shows are made of the same material.
There are also tyvek journals you can get that are water resistant, and it’s possible to get maps printed on tyvek so they won’t be destroyed by getting wet but aren’t stiff like laminated paper.
when i was 14 i went to a marine biology summer camp and everything we wrote was on paper made out of this. totally waterproof and impossible to tear or damage but we could write on it

That’s because it’s set to explicit, a setting that was locked after the great purge:
BUT
If you right-click on that toggle and click “inspect element”, you can change that.
Notice how the input tag has a disabled attribute? Just remove that whole thing:
The toggle is now active
And toggleable
And now, after a quick refresh, my old (crap, but real) icon and header image are back, and the blog is no longer treated as hidden or explicit.
The goggle also disappears after the refresh, but it’s worth noting that you can also edit the toggle back into the settings panel and change your blog back to explicit if you so desire.
This is a perfect example of the laziness of tumblr’s devs. They haven’t removed the functionality, they’ve just kinda-sorta hidden it a bit; the end-point that the explicit toggle hits is still there.
